Facing the Impossible

 

For we are powerless

against this great horde

that is coming against us.

We do not know

           what to do,

but our eyes are on You.

        2 Chronicles 20. 12

(I can't tell you

how many times I have

   held tight to this verse.

This passage is not just

  an ancient king's prayer,

but a promise to us

  on which we can

         stake our lives.

We all have our hordes

  in many shapes and sizes

of which we are powerless

    without the LORD.

Our strength is in Him.

Seeking God is not

  looking for a way out

 of an impossible situation,

but walking with Him

         through it.

Our first step to strength

 is saying out loud,

"We are powerless.")

O LORD,

We are powerless.

What does it take

     to admit that?

Thank You

     for Your strength

as we approach

and navigate

   impossible situations.

You have not

     abandoned us here,

but strategically placed us

     for Your glory

and that we would

       know You more.

May we seek Your way

and take Your hand

  even in the impossible.

Walk us through this,

          Almighty One,

  step by step.
