And when in time to come
your son asks you,
"What does this mean?"
you shall say to him,
"By a strong hand
the LORD brought us
out of Egypt,
from the house of slavery."
Exodus 13. 14
(God has given each of us
a chronicle of His faithfulness
and a collection of
interwoven stories
of our relationship with Him.
That is our testimony
and witness among others,
not meant to be hidden away,
but that the living, indwelling God
would be seen and known.
Do we seize opportunities
to tell of the wonders
and everyday strength
God has placed in our lives?
How will others know
they are not alone,
they are loved, heard, seen,
and there is a God
who knows their names too?)
O LORD,
Please help us to live out
Your grace and love
in our relationships
and all that we do.
May others know
we are not "just nice" people,
but our hearts have been
transformed by You.
Help us to live in such a way
that others feel compelled
to ask why.
And that we would look for
and capture those moments
to answer
"what does this mean?"
You have changed
the trajectory of our lives.
