Shoes Tied On, Double-knotted

 

Blessed is the one

   who listens to Me,

watching daily

          at My gates,

waiting beside My doors.

           Proverbs 8. 34

(Not waiting for marching orders,

or impersonal GPS directions,

or step by step instructions,

    but waiting and watching

                  for Him,

not rushing ahead

                or lagging behind.

Shoes tied on,

    prayer and His Word

    layered in our hearts,

        ready to walk with Him

with great anticipation

      through every moment of this day.

God changes the trajectory

          of our lives

     by transforming our hearts.

He gives us His incredible strength.

He walks us through His wonders,

    even in deepest difficulty.

We are blessed

         by walking with Him.)

O LORD,

We stand in great anticipation

   of all You will reveal to us,

all that You have ready for us,

    when we walk with You.

Help us on this rough trail

    to see Your wonders

    hidden beneath the rocks.

Empower us to

         keep our eyes on You

and worship You

   in whatever You place

          before us today.

Help us to stand watching

                 for You

and be faithful to You

        in all we do.
