And rising very early
in the morning,
while it was still dark,
He departed and went out
to a desolate place,
and there He prayed.
Mark 1. 35
(How then would we live
if we started our days
in prayer?
Not just one more thing to do,
but that which governs
everything in our day.
Acknowledging His Presence
from the very start of the day
brings His freshness and strength
that alters our trajectory.
Different choices, a new heart,
realigned vision,
and pockets full of grace
for the expected and unexpected.
Every day -- even the "ordinary"
is profoundly significant.
Prayer makes us aware.)
O LORD,
We come to You at the start
of this new day You have made.
Grant to us Your strength, wisdom,
love and grace,
not just to get through it,
but to bring You glory in the details.
May our deeds, attitudes,
and responses reveal
our love for You.
Help us to pray
and know You change us
even in the praying.
