But for You, O LORD,
do I wait;
it is You,
O Lord my God,
who will answer.
Psalm 38. 15
(What are we waiting for?
Or are we waiting at all?
The Hebrew word for wait
means to hope,
to tarry, to trust,
to stay on Him,
to be patient, and
to watch with expectation.
God does not just show up.
He is already here.
Waiting allows us to see
the reality of His Presence.
Not just that God will answer.
But He is already answering.
"Taste the moment to the full,"
wrote Henri Nouwen.
Savor this time.
God is working mightily.)
O LORD,
Help us to seize these moments
--or seasons-- of waiting.
It is not that You are absent,
but that we are not ready yet.
Thank You for the gift of waiting
that we may know and trust You
and see something different here.
Enlarge our hearts
that we may see this time
You have given us
with fresh vision
and that You bring Your glory
even in the waiting room.
There is not just a reason for it,
but Your glory in it.
We do not wait for answers,
but we wait for You.
May Your joy
course through our veins,
unrestricted by time..
