...for the consecration
of the anointing oil of his God
is on him:
I am the LORD.
Leviticus 21. 12
(We are all marked by
God's anointing and appointing
on each of us.
We are the LORD's.
Not that we are any better
or superior in some way to others,
but we walk with Him,
repentant, forgiven,
and faithful,
making different choices,
because we are loved
and He covers us by His grace.
Being consecrated is a sign of
being set apart,
a visible indication
of an inward dedication.
We are anointed and appointed
by God in this place,
situation and relationship
for His purposes
and for His glory.
Do we approach our days like that?
Setting apart does not mean
letting go
but holding tight
not to self-centeredness
but to God.
And that requires
determined choices
every sacred day.)
O LORD,
Help us to see ourselves
as being Your beloved,
specially anointed by Your grace
and appointed
even to the hard places
to bring Your name and love
to these circumstances.
May Your anointing
soften our hearts.
May Your appointing
sharpen our eyes,
on You alone.
Help us by Your strength
to live faithfully today,
love well,
and practice grace in this.
