God's Multiplication Tables

 

And He asked them,

"How many loaves do you have?"

...And they took up

the broken pieces left over,

   seven baskets full.

               Mark 8. 5, 8

(When we are willing

to offer God what we do have,

not focusing on the lack,

            God multiplies.

There is not just enough

but leftovers

          --lingering effects.

God's work always

   exceeds our vision

   and imagination.

Now watch this!)

O LORD,

It is not that we give this day

           to you

                 or our stuff,

but You lay out Your day

       for us.

You multiply not just our efforts

       but our lives.

May we have willing hearts

   to follow you and serve

in obvious needs

    and unexpected ways.

Soften our souls

      for Your glory,

even on the most ordinary days.

Help us to be

     generous with grace.
