Underlining Gratefulness

 

But thanks be to God....

         2 Corinthians 8. 16

(We remind small children

         to say thank you.

We need to remind ourselves

         to thank God,

when we recognize His Presence,

   His provision

            even in the ordinary,

His protection in unexpected ways

      and in unlikely places,

His strength

      that is obviously not our own,

and even when we do not yet see

      what God is cultivating.

God is good.

     We can stake our lives on that.

God redeems

             even now.)

O LORD,

You are good.

You do good.

You are working a mighty work

                     in us,

   even in what we cannot see.

May our refrain continually be

       our many thanks to You.

Align our hearts with Yours,

   that we would know You

                      even more.

          Even in this.
