...and with the stones
he built an altar
in the name of the LORD.
1 Kings 18. 32
(With whatever is before us
this day in these circumstances,
and with what we have,
we can worship God.
Worship is not limited
to a certain building or time,
but extends to all we do,
how we do it,
building an altar with it,
even with what appears only
as scattered rocks
in a barren field.
Worshipping God in any form
is never insignificant.
We have no idea
the eternal fruit
He brings to it.)
O LORD,
We come before You
to worship You
with all we are surrounded
and what lies before us,
even the rocks by our feet.
Be blessed and honored,
O God.
Please help us to be faithful
even in what doesn't seem
to matter much.
Bring Your fruitfulness to it.
Help us to write Your name
all over it.
Because it is all profound
and pleasing and eternal
in Your sight.
