He did not seek

guidance from the LORD.

(Have I considered

asking the LORD

        about this?

Not how do I handle this,

but what is Your way

in this difficult situation,

with impossible people,

in this totally unknown

            place?

Choosing "me do it,"

as our toddlers say,

never results

   in the same journey

nor the same outcome,

and never ends well.

When we seek God,

we see circumstances,

the road,

and our response

            differently.

"I've never thought,

done, seen, tried

     that before.")

O LORD,

Even at the end

   of our rope

        or hope,

we see our dependence

            on You.

Help us to sit with You

   and walk with You

and not just think through,

     but seek You through

what is before us.

First response,

         not last resort.

Nothing too small

   to come before You.

Nothing too daunting

  that Your strength

         and glory

  cannot cover.
