...for all the work
of the LORD...
1 Chronicles 26. 30
(No work is insignificant
in His sight,
nothing too small
or great,
nothing beyond His power
to use in mighty ways,
even in this.
Do we see this task
as our work,
our achievement,
our glory,
or as His?
Are we sensitive
to the needs around us
and see this situation
differently
as what God can use
and what He is doing
through us?
God brings dignity
to all work.
All is sacred in His eyes.)
O LORD,
Something is very different
when we walk with You
through our circumstances.
When we walk with You,
it changes what we do,
why we do it,
how we respond,
because You
change our hearts
from the temporal
to the eternal.
When we don't just
"work for the LORD,"
but work with You,
we see it differently.
What is done in Your name
never returns void,
even if no one ever notices,
even if we never
see the outcome.
No task too small,
too "secular,"
too obscure,
too mundane
that You cannot use
for Your Kingdom
or for Your glory.
Huge corporate
developments,
a kind action,
a personal sacrifice,
listening to a spouse,
mopping the floor,
playing with a child.
Even this.
