He will guard the feet

     of His faithful ones...

           1 Samuel 2. 9

(We can stake our lives

              on that reality,

no matter the circumstances.

God does not promise

   that our way will be easy

   or the view great,

   or our path today is

           without potholes,

but that He will guard our feet

    and be with us,

    even through the hard stuff.

God says,

"Do not fear.

I am with you.

Now watch this.")

O LORD,

May we walk differently

    because we walk with You.

Help us to trust You

             even in this.

Even in ways

    we do not yet understand,

because You are with us.

Your goodness far exceeds

      what we can see

      and past our explanations.

Your protection,

Presence and provision

   stretch way beyond

            our lifetimes.

Help us to be faithful to You,

    even in this.
