...Who turns the rock

         into a pool of water,

the flint

         into a spring of water.

               Psalm 114. 8

(Literally between

       a rock and a hard place,

from a place of despair

  into that which nourishes.

All of us struggle with something.

But this hardship

     --like all the others in our lives--

is not the end of the story

   but the adventure

          of God's glory revealed.

God specializes

   in what we see as impossible.

What heart am I bringing

                to this situation?

Do I trust Him

      in what is before me?

God says, "Now watch this.)

O LORD,

Help us to follow You

even into what

      only appears as impossible.

Help us to be faithful to You

   even in what we cannot yet see.

Help us to know

   that the unexpected

and even the uncomfortable

  are redeemed by Your glory.

Not my will

          but Yours be done.

Even in this.
