But let justice roll down
like waters,
and righteousness
like an ever-flowing stream.
Amos 5. 24
(Not just a dribble or two,
but a nurturing source,
using our abilities
and resources
to do what is good and right,
protecting the weak,
seeking the welfare
of others,
being faithful
even in drought.
Not limited to doing
but released by being.
What is my heart in this?
Being not just aware of need,
but mindful of restoring
and doing something about it
for the welfare of others
and God's glory.
What do we seek,
what do we choose,
what do we love?
Justice is making things
right again.
Righteousness is
motivated by love.)
O LORD,
May our lives
be marked by
Your strength and grace
flowing into
this broken world.
Help us always
to be identified as Yours
by life-giving waters
in deeds and words
and acts of restoration.
May Your love
literally flow through us,
even in unexpected ways
and in unlikely places.
