Walking in the Dark

 

Light dawns in the darkness

      for the upright;

He is gracious,

   merciful and righteous.

                Psalm 112. 4

(When we walk with God

    through the hard stuff,

     difficulties, and brambles,

God helps us to

            see in the dark.

With God,

  we see our situation differently,

suddenly another way through,

   or a changed heart in this.

And we see Him

       in fresh ways

      and new dimensions.

He is gracious, merciful

    and righteous after all.

In the dark,

  we come to know Him

  and trust Him even more.

We walk not just toward the light,

      but with His light.

And something new

    emerges through the shadows.)

O LORD,

We stand in a scary place

   where we don't know

    what is next.

Be our light, Almighty One.

Show us Your way 

           in the midst of chaos.

Help us to trust You 

          yet another step.

Surround us with Your Presence

      in unexpected places.

The darkness

       is not dark to You.
