Will they revive the stones

   out of the heaps of rubbish,

and burned ones at that?

              Nehemiah 4. 2

(God does not just repair

                or recycle,

   but God redeems.

What appears to the world

as waste or heaps of failures,

     God uses powerfully

     and restores

for His greater purposes.

We have only to be faithful

   with what He places

             before us,

    within our reach,

         and on our hearts,

knowing that what He is doing

         in us and through us

bears fruit far beyond our lifetimes,

way over what we can imagine

              or see.

We cannot do everything,

    but we can do something,

faithfulness in daily increments.)

O LORD,

You place us strategically

     for Your purposes,

not just to do stuff,

but to walk with You

            through it.

Help us to

    not trust in an outcome,

    but trust You.

Help us to approach

          this overwhelming task

with Your creativity

and know that You redeem,

      and You revive,

      even the impossible.

If it were not hard,

       would we still seek You?

You bring about Your glory

   with hearts willing

   to follow You into it.
