Say to my soul,
     "I am your salvation!"

          Psalm 35. 3

(At our point of need,
    Jesus meets us there.
In our trouble and affliction,
   God draws us
             even closer.
Hardship reveals
        on what or Whom
        we depend.
Praying to God
   is our first defense,
   our first response,
not our last resort.)

O LORD,
May we not only
    be aware of Your Presence
               with us today,
but live assuredly with You,
    knowing You even more
 even in unlikely places,
       in the unknown,
   and despite the unexpected.
Help us to live out
       Your salvation
       in whatever we face today,
knowing You are with us.
You do not just show up,
                    O LORD.
You are already here.
