Not Just A Meet-And-Greet

 

...the tent of meeting

      before the LORD,

where I will meet with you,

   to speak to you there.

            Exodus 29. 42

(God meets us

        where we are.

He does not just show up,

    but is already here,

  waiting on us.

The tent of meeting,

the sanctuary,

the place of His Presence

   is wherever

       we come before Him

  to listen and respond.

Not just a meet-and-greet,

   but where to dwell.)

O LORD,

Thank You that we can

   know You,

   abide in You,

and not have to

         go this life alone.

We are drawn to You

   by our yearning

and by Your yearning

                 for us.

Cover us with Your

    steadfast love today.

And remind us

  that You are always

  up for a conversation.

In whatever we do today,

   wherever we are,

may we worship You

   and find it brings us

   even closer together.

Even on the darkest days,

   we are held by You.
