Why are you cast down,
O my soul,
and why are you
in turmoil within me?
Hope in God;
for I shall again praise Him,
my salvation and my God.
Psalm 42. 5, 11
(There is no greater turmoil
than not knowing who we are,
why we are here,
or trying to prove our worth.
But we don't have to prove ourselves
to God or anyone else.
Because we are beloved
by the Almighty God.
And we are His.
Our hope is built
on nothing less.
Our identity or value
is not in our jobs,
position, power or achievement,
or lack thereof.
Those things don't define us.
God has in mind things
so much bigger.
Our work is not who we are,
but where God has
strategically positioned us
for His purposes,
kingdom and glory.
Whether we seemingly succeed
or fall desperately short,
our most profound witness
may be how we respond
to first place or last.
We're still running with Him.
And He delights in us.
No matter what.
Because we matter to Him.)
O LORD,
Please help us to know
that we are secure in You.
We don't have to
prove our worth to You.
You showed us that
on the Cross.
We are fully loved.
Our identity is in You,
not in what we do.
Our work is not
who we are,
but how You use us
to love others
right to You.
