More and More and More

   my exceeding joy...

(Whom or what we desire

    more than anything,

radically shifts

    the paths we choose,

    the stuff we admire,

    the very trajectory

            of our lives.

As James K. A. Smith says,

   "You are what you love."

When God is our

            exceeding joy,

it changes us:

     our attitudes,

     outlook,

    the songs we hum,

    and everything we do.

How we see God

alters how we view

             circumstances,

             others,

             and even ourselves.)

O LORD,

Align our hearts with Yours,

that we may see this world

  with different eyes,

          a fresh joy,

  and knowing that

           You are good.

We can stake our lives

                on that.

And even in the hard stuff,

   You are already redeeming.

Bring us through this day

    with the joy of knowing You,

more and more and more.
