Occasional Thunder Storms

 

When the tempest passes,

the wicked is no more,

but the righteous is

           established forever.

            Proverbs 10. 25

(Live in such a way,

not by ignoring impending storms,

   but preparing for them.

Our practices and patterns

              and habits

  --prayer, scripture,

    witness and with-ness--

    strengthen us for today

    and equip us

               for the unexpected.

You didn't promise

              blue sky weather,

   but that You are with us.

Hope allows us to look forward

   to when the tempest passes,

    because this hardship and difficulty

               will not last forever.

And while we walk with Him through this,

God reveals yet another dimension

                 to our relationship,

    built with solid blocks of trust.

And we will know the steadfast love 

     of the Almighty

                          even more.

Even in the rain.)

O LORD,

The forecast may look bleak,

but we know that You are with us.

Help us to see our way

    through a dismal forecast.

Empower us to speak Your words

     right into the wind, rain,

                   and despair,

       "Peace, be still."

You are still in control.

Reveal Your steps through

       the rough weather of life

  in a way that binds us to You
