How To Run Fast

 

So Aaron took it

as Moses said

     and ran into

the midst of the assembly.

            Numbers 16. 47

(How should we respond

in situations of discord

and the gaping need for

   reconciliation and forgiveness?

           Run into it.

No time to spare.

We can never know

      how God uses forgiveness

to bring us and others

into right relationship with Him.

          But He does.

Forgiveness stops

        the plague from spreading.

Forgiveness stops

        the bleeding out,

                 including our own.

And reverberates for generations,

   far more than we realize.)

O LORD,

Fill us with Your steadfast love,

that we would know

   how to respond with grace,

to cover with forgiveness,

to free from injury,

    and to turn from calamity.

Align our hearts with Yours

  that we would dwell

  in Your grace that heals

and Your strength beyond our own.

Empower us to run toward You

   and bring someone with us.
