So Moses
prayed for the people.
Numbers 21. 7
(Praying is an act of grace.
Even though they had brought
trouble upon themselves,
even though they were
rebellious and grumpy,
even though they gave Moses
a really hard time
over and over again,
Moses prayed for them.
What if praying was our default?
We would witness how praying
gets all over everything,
not just how much
they would change,
but how much our own hearts
and attitudes and actions
would change,
right in the act of praying.
Same trigger,
but different response,
and different outcome.
What if we prayed about this
instead?)
O LORD,
Please help us to not be
the ones who grumble,
criticize,
or try to change others,
but to learn to pray instead.
We all struggle with something
or someone,
but You have placed us here
to bring Your name,
Your grace and love.
Engrave in our hearts
the need to pray.
May we come to You
right away,
trusting You
as You guide us through.
And help us to realize
that praying invites us into
all the incomprehensible things
You are already doing.
