Moses fled
and became an exile
in the land of Midian,
where he became
   the father of two sons.

              Acts 7. 29

(This is part of Moses’ story
that we forget,
his forty years of personal exile
              and equipping.
May we use our wilderness
     wisely and use it well.
God uses wilderness to bring us
    into deeper intimacy with Him.
We are going to need it.
Wilderness is not a
     place of wandering
     but of wonder,
not of barren exile and emptiness
  but equipping and worship,
  growth and ripening,
the planting of big trees.
The LORD is in this place,
and we did not know it.)

O LORD,
You have placed us strategically
in the sacredness of this day.
Please help us recognize
   this holy ground
   even in what appears
         as wilderness
         and rocky impossible soil.
Even in what looks unfruitful,
help us to be faithful to You.
Help us to walk with You,
      to know You more,
even into what we cannot see
                from here.
We are not just here for a reason,
    but by Your design
    and for Your glory.
Even here.
Even in this.
