At Gibeon,
the LORD appeared
  to Solomon in a dream
  by night,
and God said,
“Ask what I shall give you.”

               1 Kings 3. 5

(And how do we respond
           to God?
God provides far beyond
   what we ask, imagine,
   far exceeding what
         we think we need
          or He can do.
This is what God does
            to an ordinary life,
because in His eyes,
      no one is ordinary
and nothing is insignificant.)

O LORD,
We come before You,
    astonished by how
    You love us,
how You transform,
how You redeem everything       around us,
and how You use even us
          for Your glory.
Grant us Your wisdom
      and understanding
even right where
   You have strategically put us,
every seamless detail,
nothing random in Your steps,
no interruptions
       but divine appointments,
even in what
    we will never see.
Help us to be faithful to You
    in all things today
    for Your glory,
                not ours,
in big things and small,
because nothing is small
          in Your Kingdom
or in our relationship with You.
