But whoever would
   be great among you
   must be your servant,
and whoever would
   be first among you
   must be servant of all.
For even the Son of Man
 came not to be served,
             but to serve.

            Mark 10. 43-45

(Have we considered
how to seek God in this?
Did it even occur to us
     how to serve in this?
Walking with God
   makes us see
       what and who around us
   and respond differently.
Nothing but nothing
        random in this,
but an opportunity
             to serve God
  and practice grace.)

O LORD,
You surround us
   with immeasurable times
   to serve You
in how we respond to need.
Help us to see
        the visible and invisible
and seek to restore
and bring the name of Jesus
          to the broken places.
When we walk with You,
You fill us with contentment,
profound purpose,
      and Your strength.
