...and behold,
the staff of Aaron
      for the house of Levi
had sprouted
and put forth buds
and produced blossoms,
and it bore
              ripe almonds.

            Numbers 18. 8

(God bears fruit
      in impossible places.
God reveals Himself
   in incredible ways
         every day to us.
We miss out on most
      of His wonders,
 because we are
       looking for something else,
    and not seeking Him.
He is among us,
He is working in and through us,
        and we don't realize it.)

O LORD,
If You can bear fruit
              through a stick,
what amazingly abundant,
   incredibly sustaining,
   absolutely astonishing fruit,
not can You produce in our lives,
but You can
    and You are already nurturing.
May we realize
         the seamless link
between faithfulness
              and fruitfulness.
You take an ordinary stick,
an ordinary day,
and bear Your extraordinary fruit.
Help us to trust You in this day,
to seek You even in the common,
help us to seize
    Your Presence through it.
