Bear fruits
   in keeping with repentance.

            Luke 3. 8

(Not just
      "shelter in place,"
but
    "bear fruit in place,"
right where we are,
in the most unlikely places,
in these
   most unusual times,
and among
    even the unexpected.
Are we responding
               differently
to these lockdowns,
to the quarantines,
to this new wilderness,
  because we know Christ?
How does that look different?
We are not
     in a place of fear,
but of strengthening.
God is still
      watching over us.
Even in this,
God is still God.)

O LORD,
May we not just adjust
    to these unusual times,
but bear fruit
          for Your kingdom,
even in impossible places.
May we bring You glory
     wherever You lead us today.
You are our God.
May our life in You
    be evident in the darkness,
replacing fear with
       Your steadfast love.
We are not alone in this.
You are our refuge,
our strength,
our strong tower.
May Your people radiate
with Your hope
and Your grace
and in loving others creatively.
No matter what.
