You shall make

    a plate of pure gold

and engrave on it,

like the engraving of a signet,

        "Holy to the LORD."

                  Exodus 28. 36

(Whatever we do today,

      both small and great,

what is recognized

         and what no one notices,

   we can worship the LORD in it.

Engrave the name of the LORD

   on our work, words, hearts,

        for His glory alone.

All is holy to Him.

We have no idea what

          is profoundly significant

    or how God decides to use it.

But He always chooses

       faithfulness to Him.

Faithfulness has His name

                all over it.)

O LORD,

May our work today

be as pure gold

    with Your name engraved

           in beautiful letters.

We worship You

         in all we do.

Bring Your glory to it.

Help us to be faithful

  and know that

  there aren't any ordinary days,

            nor ordinary work,

just what is ordained by You.
