      crying in the wilderness,

"Prepare the way of the Lord,

make His paths straight."

(Sometimes that is

          what it feels like,

    living it out

    when no one appears

             to see or to care.

But wherever God places us

    is a divine appointment

    to minister for the Lord

          and point others to Him.

What may appear to us

   as a wild and barren wilderness

is the sacred ground

     that God transforms.)

O LORD,

Help us to realize that

    You have strategically positioned

     us right here

          in time and space

     for Your purposes

     and to love others

               into Your kingdom.

No one stands outside

         the power of Your grace.

Multiply and deepen, O LORD,

      the work of our hands.

Enlarge our hearts

   to be faithful to You,

                   even here,

                   even in this.

Bring Your fruit

                    and Your glory to it.
