...as he came down

      from the mountain,

Moses did not know

that the skin of his face shone

because he had been

         talking with God.

               Exodus 34. 20

(Spending time with God

in His Word, meditating on it,

and praying with Him,

changes everything about us,

how we love Him,

how we love others,

what we love,

how we respond,

the kind of person we become,

the fragrance we bring,

           the wake we leave behind.

Others may even see

         a shift in our appearance.

Do we recognize

    that we can't afford

                not to pray?)

O LORD,

As we come before You,

please transform our hearts

that we would reflect

     Your love, grace and mercy.

Our time with You

          is precious in our sight

     and in Yours.

Help us to know that praying

    is just the portal

    to abiding with You.

And that changes

         everything about us.

In not praying,

           we miss out

  on far more than we know.
