They served their idols,

which became

       a snare to them.

(What is distracting me

from my relationship with God?

What is nurturing me?

An idol

       --whatever it is--

is always a snare.

There are no small idols.)

O LORD,

Help us to not just

     be aware of you

but to have the

             mind of Christ.

Help us to approach

this day, this week,

  this impossible situation

             differently

because we love You.

May distractions fade away

  from our pursuit of You,

not exchanging

       one thing for another,

but staking our lives on You.

Keep us wise in our choices,

keep us faithful in our walk.

Align our hearts with Yours.

Affirm and confirm

       Your Word in our hearts.
