And the LORD

   appeared to him

by the oaks of Mamre,

as he sat at

   the door of his tent

   in the heat of the day.

He lifted up his eyes

and looked

         and behold....

            Genesis 18. 1-2

(Watching for the LORD

in our comings and goings,

on the most ordinary of days,

in unlikely places

      and unexpected ways,

living faithfully before Him

in the now,

not just waiting for the next.

Seeking Him

right where we are today.

There are no ordinary days,

    only sacred ones.

Behold, look!

   God is revealing Himself.)

O LORD,

We miss out on seeing You,

because we are

busy and preoccupied

and not abiding in You.

Please help us

to be faithful to You,

not just to seek Your blessing,

but seek to bless others

    and seek to bless You

             and bring You glory.

On what only appears

   as an ordinary day,

Your extraordinary purposes

      unfold before us.

The best way to stay watchful

    is to be walking with You.
