The Middle of the Story

 

I cry out to God Most High,

to God who

  fulfills His purpose for me.

              Psalm 57. 2

(We may not understand

   what is going on around us,

but when we call out to God,

  He brings new strength

  and helps us see

         and respond differently.

God is accomplishing more

  than we can ever imagine.

We cannot yet

    see the completion

because we abide in

        the middle of the story,

  whether what appears mundane

  or the most exciting parts,

      neither is insignificant.

We can trust God Almighty.

And be faithful to Him

  even in the every days.

There are no superfluous details,

no random encounters,

  only divine appointments.)

O LORD,

Please help us to trust You

  in all that You have

  placed before us.

Above all things we do today,

   that we are faithful to You.

Please assure us

       and encourage us

that You are fulfilling our lives

  and bearing Your fruit

  and glory through us,

not an ordinary day

             among them.
