Enoch walked with God...
Genesis 5. 22
(That is the one thing
God asks of us:
Walk with Me.
That daily practice far exceeds
any agenda, goals, resolutions,
way beyond what we can
imagine or expect.
After a long list of generations,
Enoch's life is distinguished by
his long-going walk with God,
a relationship which infiltrated
who he was, what he did and said,
and how he approached
circumstances, great and small.
He did not live as if
he walked alone.
Walking means not an occasional stroll,
but a manner of life.
Even the word "with" in Hebrew
means near, together with,
and in relationship.
By what are we known?
How does that change how we
respond and navigate today?)
O LORD,
Of all the things swirling around,
the tasks and responsibilities,
the joys and really hard stuff,
the one thing essential is that
we walk with You in it.
Anoint our hearts with
Your strength and grace.
Please help us to respond
to Your appointments,
those we anticipate and
even the unexpected ones.
Empower us to tie on our shoes
and walk today with You.
One step and then another.
