The people of Israel

    encamped before them

like two little flocks of goats,

but the Syrians filled the country.

..."I will give

    all this great multitude

                     into your hand,

and you shall know

       that I am the LORD."

                   1 Kings 20. 27-28

(Everyone struggles with something.

But the odds are never a barrier

            to God's victory in this,

   yett the means to His glory.

"Walk with Me

    into what is overwhelming."

We not only go in His strength,

  but we can see it differently.

The point is that we shall know

    in the face of all this

         that He is still God.)

O LORD,

Great is Your faithfulness

  even in the face of the overwhelming.

Perhaps our fear is just realizing

   how much we need You.

Help us to walk with You

   and sing Your glory

                all over this.

You bring Your victory

  even in ways we may not see.

But we can always stake our lives

             on You.

Give us the courage we need.
