Is it because there

          is no God in Israel

that you are going to

   inquire of Baal-zebub,

   the god of Ekron?

               2 Kings 1.3

(Who are we seeking

    as the source of our hope?

What do we pursue in

    our times of fear and need?

Everyone struggles with something.

      And everyone prays.

We just choose

       in whom we trust.

And exactly why are we

   not seeking God in this?

We worry, we complain,

   we panic, we gab with others,

but do we pray

         to the Almighty?)

O LORD,

We come before You

in all of our mess,

in every bit of our brokenness,

because You are our God.

Help us to not miss

   what You are doing with this.

Help us to know

   Your strength and Your Presence

   in both the daily

             and the impossible.

And by praying to You,

  may others come

          to know You,

a God not just of answers

  but of steadfast love

         and faithfulness.

That is Who You are.
