Brothers and sisters,

if you have any

   word of encouragement

   for the people,

                    say it.

              Acts 13. 15

(We cannot do everything,

    but we can always encourage,

giving strength, kindness

          and grace to others,

   every which way we can.

Seek and seize the opportunities.

We can never know

   with what others are struggling

  and how they are enduring.

We can never conceive how

  a few words of encouragement

             from the sidelines

   keeps them trekking on.)

O LORD,

In any situation we walk into,

make us sensitive

  to the hearts of others.

Provide for us

   words of encouragement

to infuse joy into their day

and somehow point them

         to Your abiding strength.

Encouragement is a strong

   and intentional way

           of loving others.

Show us how to sustain

   with a word

   those who are weary.

             (Isaiah 50.4)
