...but the LORD
was not in the wind.
And after the wind
an earthquake,
but the LORD
was not in the earthquake.
And after the earthquake
a fire,
but the LORD was
not in the fire.
And after the fire
the sound of a low whisper.
1 Kings 18. 11-12
(Listen for His voice
in unexpected ways
and unlikely places.
Even in this,
God is with us.)
O LORD,
We are often confused
by circumstances
far beyond our control.
But we can seek
Your Presence there.
You walk with us in the garden.
You hold our hand tight
in the wind, earthquakes
and devastating wildfires.
We are not alone.
You are with us.
Help us to not just hear Your voice,
but to listen to You.
May we be faithful to You
in the ordinary and
the extraordinary.
And abide in You
through it.
