The LORD was with Joseph,
and he became
a successful man...
the LORD was with him,
and the LORD caused
all that he did
to succeed in his hands.
Genesis 39. 2-3
(The key word here
is not Joseph
but the LORD.
Joseph was
faithful to God
and His glory
in all that he did,
in all God laid before him,
no matter
the circumstances,
dire or favorable.
God brings the fruit
from it.
Succeed in the Hebrew
means to prosper
and to flourish.
Our faithfulness blesses God
and everyone around us.
Grumbling and complaining
only manage to dig potholes.)
O LORD,
Show us the ways
to be faithful to You,
even today,
even in the mess around us.
Please bring
Your roots and Your fruit
in unlikely ways
and in impossible places
and among unexpected people.
We can never know
how You produce the growth
or in whom.
We seek You,
not outcomes within
our range of vision,
but You.
For Your glory alone.
