And the disciples said to Him,
"Where are we
to get enough bread
in such a desolate place
to feed so great a crowd?"
And Jesus said to them,
"How many loaves
do you have?"
Matthew 15. 33-34
(We see what we don't have.
We limit ourselves
by what we lack.
But Jesus sees the reality
of what wonders can be done
with what we do have.
We see only the variables.
God sees the equation,
all part of His fundamental law
of multiplication.)
O LORD,
On our own,
we can see no further
than our hand
in front of our face.
But You
enlarge and deepen our vision
to trust You in
what is visible
and invisible to our eyes.
You are not limited
by our belief or unbelief.
We have only to be faithful
and bring our cares
and fears and worries
and loaves before You.
Help us to trust You
as we step into the needs.
Help us to recognize
and acknowledge Your hand
and Your provision.
We are not in this alone.
You never intended that.
