The LORD said to him,

"What is that

          in your hand?"

         Exodus 4.2

(How in the world

am I going to do

this impossible task?

God has already provided

what we need to serve Him,

sometimes through

  past experiences

  that didn't seem to matter

  or pieces that didn't fit.

What we need the most

     is a willing heart

to follow

     and respond to Him.

What is in my hand?

What is in my heart?

Trust Me in this.)

O LORD,

Help us to see our situation

               differently

by seeing You differently.

You are the God who guides.

You are the God who provides.

Help us to not get ahead of You.

We cannot perceive Your purposes,

nor can know Your outcomes

   which always come in multitudes.

But we can be faithful

  in the one thing You have

        placed before us today.

We cannot do everything,

     but we can do something.

And that would be

     walking with You in it.

Prepare our hearts

   that we would perceive

   deeper than the obvious.

And step into the need.
