I glorified You on earth,

having accomplished

the work that

You gave me to do.

           John 17. 4

(Would I have a

   different attitude,

   approach,

   intent and effort

in this task

or hard appointment,

if I knew it was

               from God?

What if this difficult thing

was meant

     to glorify Him?)

O LORD,

We rarely recognize

    Your hand

in what we do

even while we

     are doing it.

Help us to bring

   Your holy Name

with us into this day

and keep in mind

      Your glory

and Your Presence.

Even in this.

There are

no small obediences

in Your economy,

        O LORD.

Grant us Your joy

    in loving

    and serving You.
