Being Led

 

...like the angel of the LORD,

    going before them...

          Zechariah 13. 8

This is a great verse to contemplate

   at the ending of a year

   and the beginning of the next.

We examine where we have been,

and mostly cannot yet know

   where God is taking us.

Yet we are not wandering.

       We are being led.

God guides us through.

He is with us every step.

But God also goes before us,

preparing not just our way,

  but preparing ourselves. 

O LORD,

Thank You for Your Presence

as we go about this day

and enter yet another year.

We are grateful

       and much relieved

to know You go before us.

We cannot understand

  all the things we encounter

  along the way,

but we can know

        that You know.

Grant to us the courage

     to go forth,

the strength we need,

and the assurance

  that You are equipping us

to bring the name of Jesus

  even in unexpected places.
