Ask rain
from the LORD
in the season of spring rain,
from the LORD
who makes the storm clouds,
and He will give them
showers of rain,
for everyone
the vegetation of the field.
Zechariah 10. 1
Did we even consider
asking the LORD
about this situation?
From the LORD
is repeated twice
as a directive
and a reminder.
From what do we seek
our needs for sustenance
and survival and favor?
God grants to us
all that we can't, won't,
or able to accomplish on our own,
that which only He can do.
Sometimes He gives us even what
we don't realize we need.
God blesses and redeems.
What are we
asking Him for?
Or are we even asking?
The problem is not
that God does not give,
but the speed bump is
our willingness to receive from Him.
O LORD,
Thank You for Your steadfast love
that both encompasses us
and provides for our
deepest heartfelt needs.
Bring Your rain
in so many dimensions
to help us grow in You
and sustain those
all around us.
Remind us
that we can ask You.
And You provide.
