A Million Times Over

 

Return to the LORD your God,

for He is gracious and merciful,

slow to anger,

and abounding in steadfast love.

              Joel 2. 13

The porchlight is not just on, 

the door is not just unlocked

           and open wide,

   but God runs to us.

Our story is not over yet.

What does it take for us

   to turn and return

and respond to Him?

"Come Home," He whispers.

O LORD,

You do not just give us

            a second chance,

but a million times over and over,

covered in Your steadfast love

            and forgiveness.

You do not just show up,

but You show us

   the way back to You.

Soften our hearts

      and change our minds,

not that we would

            find our way back,

but You guide us

                   right to You.

As the GPS directs us,

      Turn now.
