If your enemy is hungry,
give him bread to eat,
and if he is thirsty,
give him water to drink,
for you will heap
burning coals on his head,
and the LORD will reward you.
Proverbs 25. 21-22
(What if we viewed
this difficult situation
or difficult person
differently,
not as hardship or struggle,
but as an opportunity
to practice grace?
Take others by surprise.
Grace is always unexpected,
and never wasted.
May others be amazed
by what happens
and how God uses it.
Who lives like that?
The faithful.)
O LORD,
Helps us to not be resistant,
nor impervious,
but responsive to circumstances.
Align our hearts with Yours
that we would be aware
of hurts and wounds
that cause people
to be irritable
or adversarial.
Fill our hearts and pockets
with incredible grace
that we would be generous,
even when we have every reason
not to,
in order to honor You
in unlikely places
and point others to You.
