Even in This

 

See that you fulfill the ministry

   that you have received

                      in the Lord.

                Colossians 4. 17

(It could say:

See all that you do

                as ministry,

   even in the most unexpected

          places and ways.

What we do matters

          far more than we know,

whether scrubbing floors

   or leading a Bible study,

or just having a good attitude

          in the hard stuff.

Faithfulness builds

            on faithfulness.

And this mundane task

             or irritable co-worker,

   may be our ultimate ministry

             --or a training ground--

          for what is now

          and what is to come.

May we practice with all diligence.)

O LORD,

It is the voice of the adversary

that tries to convince us

  that what we do

               doesn't matter.

But in all things,

        great and small,

what is heralded

     and what is not even recognized,

  You bring Your glory.

Remind us

   when we are discouraged,

that we are serving You.
