    prayed to the LORD.

          1 Samuel 8. 6

(As I once heard someone say,

"It never occurred to me

        to pray about that."

And oh, what we miss.

Prayer is first response,

           not last resort,

first step of action,

      first line of defense,

not just a new way

   of looking at things,

but His way in this,

which may not even be

                on my radar.

Not my will

              but Yours.)

O LORD,

We cry out to you,

we lift up our burdens

and cares

and worries

         and fears

              to You.

Be glorified, O LORD,

           in this,

even in what we will

       never even realize.
