(Faithful

     wherever God placed him,

even in prison,

even in injustice,

even in mystery.

Joseph did not waste energy

wondering "Why, O LORD?"

but sought the LORD

  in what was right before him.

Not focusing on the next,

   but seeking God in the now.)

O LORD,

Please help us to be

           faithful to You,

even when we don't get it,

even when it is hard,

even when the lights go out.

Keep our eyes on You,

aware,

sensitive to Your leading,

steadfast,

"to walk in a manner

        worthy of You,

fully pleasing to You,

bearing fruit

    in every good work,

and increasing

    in knowledge of You."

            (Colossians 1. 10)

Even now.

Even in this.
